<h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr">Information for Tiger Families</h2><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr"> </h2>Dear Tiger Families,<img src="/images/d9bd5c47-6f51-44ea-a102-b7ede088a332" alt="2025October24" width="209" height="278" style="width:209px;height:278px;display:inline-block;float:right">It is almost the end of October and we are well into the swing of learning in our classrooms. The Odessa Student Achievement Plan was shared at School Council last week. A summarized version of the school goals for the 2025-26 academic year are included below.We are excited to be using Knowledgehook in all of our classrooms from Grades 1 to 6. Knowledgehook is a Canadian educational technology company that provides an online math learning tool for students, teachers, and parents. It offers interactive, curriculum-aligned questions and assessments, such as live "GameShows" and self-paced "Missions," designed to help students practice math and give teachers insights into student thinking and areas of need. The platform aims to support student learning by giving teachers data for instructional guidance and providing students with engaging, game-like math activities. As a parent, you can connect to your child’s account and be part of supporting that learning. By now, you should have received information about how to connect to your child's account from their classroom teacher(s). Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have not received this information. This week we are holding a contest at the school. On Friday, the class with the most families attached to their child's Knowledgehook account will win a Pizza Party. Make sure you get connected Tiger Families!The Lost and Found will now be on display in the front hallway of the school. We are hoping that families will stop in regularly to look for their child's missing belongings. Please encourage your children to check the Lost and Found. We have already gathered lots of sweatshirts. News From the Tiger’s Den - October 20th, 2025

<h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr">Information for Tiger Families</h2><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr"> </h2>Dear Tiger Families, On Wednesday, October 15th the Tiger Cross Country Team competed at the LDSB Region 2 Cross Country Meet. We had 32 runners compete and they all had AMAZING results. Our coaches (Mrs. Carrier and Ms. Young) were very impressed with how our Tiger racers attacked the hills at Fort Henry. Addison placed 10th overall in the Bantam Girls division and was our top finisher. Congratulations to Addison, Hannah, Benny, Van and Gwen who all qualified in the top 30 in their division. These five Tiger runners will participate in the LDSB Cross Country Championship race at Fort Henry on October 22nd. GO TIGERS!In case you missed this last week, the Limestone District School Board is committed to fostering accessibility and inclusion for all. We are currently developing our next Multi-Year Accessibility Plan and invite feedback from students, staff, families, and community members. Your input will help ensure our goals reflect the diverse needs and lived experiences across our school communities. The survey is open until November 10, 2025.Finally, we have noticed an increase in the number of absences from school this year. We will be reaching out to families of students who have missed a significant number of school days already this year and are not yet on track to meet the goal of less than 18 days missed over the course of the school year. We are here to help ensure your children are at school regularly and on time. News From the Tiger’s Den - October 13th, 2025

<h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr">Information for Tiger Families</h2><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr"> </h2>Dear Tiger Families, <img src="/images/3af1d9ed-7030-4f6c-a78c-675d500b349b" alt="2025October17" width="340" height="453" style="width:340px;height:453px;display:inline-block;float:right">I hope that everyone enjoyed some time with their families over the long weekend. On Friday, the staff spent some time setting the School Achievement Plan goals for the 2025-26 school year. The goals fall under the areas of Literacy, Numeracy and Well Being. We will be finalizing these goals over the coming weeks and will share our plan in November. The afternoon portion of the day was spent on completing Individual Education Plans. Families of students who have IEPs are reminded that the first draft will be coming home on Thursday of this week. The IEP is a working document and we will be continuing to refine and edit them over the coming weeks. You may receive an updated copy with the Progress Reports in November. Families are also encouraged to connect with their child's teacher if they have suggestions or edits to the IEP.The Limestone District School Board is committed to fostering accessibility and inclusion for all. This week the Cross Country Team competes in the Region 1 Cross Country Championships at Fort Henry on Wednesday. Welcome to Odessa Public School – Home of the Tigers! We are proud to be a Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 school, located beside Ernestown Intermediate & Secondary School in the vibrant and growing community of Odessa. Our dedicated staff work together to create a positive and engaging learning environment, offering a rich educational experience for every student. Dear Families,It is hard to believe we are already approaching the end of October.  Excluding today and a handful of other days, we have enjoyed a beautiful and relatively warm fall. Since the start of the school year, it has been wonderful to see the momentum of learning and the wide variety of extracurricular activities taking place across Limestone schools. As we head into November next week, I want to share a few updates with you:See Yourself in Limestone – Student Census SurveyInformation was shared with families earlier this week regarding the upcoming See Yourself in Limestone Student Census. The census is a voluntary and confidential survey for students in Grades 4 to 12. Please note, there was one error in the message shared with you regarding the dates of the Student Census. The correct dates are November 24 to 28, 2025.As a reminder, families who do not want their student(s) to complete the survey must contact their school Principal by Friday, November 14, 2025. Opting out means the student will not receive the survey in their e-mail inbox.By better understanding students’ identities and experiences, we can remove barriers and better support students in accessing what they need to succeed.Learn more about the Student Census and how it supports equity in Limestone: <a href="https://www.limestone.on.ca/student_census" class="editor-link">limestone.on.ca/student_census</a>Reminder: Upcoming PA Day – November 14, 2025A reminder to families that Friday, November 14 is a Professional Activity (PA) Day for all Limestone students. This update is interim because we are still awaiting the release of 2024-2025 EQAO data and other provincial data. School buses function differently than other vehicles, and sometimes, although it is safe for the average family vehicle to travel, it is not safe for a school bus to be on the road. Due to the geographic size of our district, weather conditions can vary significantly from one region to another. As a result, there are times when transportation cancellations may only apply to specific areas experiencing adverse conditions, while other regions remain unaffected. Having to cancel school transportation is understandably disruptive to families, but Tri-Board always puts the safety of their 30,000-plus bus riders first and foremost in their decision-making. Upcoming Student Census Survey

Dear Families,Limestone is committed to supporting every student in achieving success. To do this, we need to better understand how students’ identities, experiences, and academic outcomes are connected. That is why we are launching our second See Yourself in Limestone Student Census Survey this November.The Student Census is a voluntary survey for students in Grades 4 to 12. It gathers information about students’ identities and their experiences at school. This data is then paired with academic information to help us understand what school is like for different groups of students.It is important to note that:<ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem">The survey is optional.</li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem">Responses are confidential.</li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem">Students can choose to answer as much or as little of the survey as they wish.</li></ul>The goal is to identify ways schools can better support students and ensure everyone has what they need to succeed. The insights we gain will help Limestone break down barriers and improve school experiences for all students.The census will be available from November 24 to 28, 2025, and students will complete it during class time. If you prefer that your student not participate, you can opt them out by contacting your school principal.
