The Odessa Student Achievement Plan was shared at School Council last week. A summarized version of the school goals for the 2025-26 academic year are included below.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">We are excited to be using Knowledgehook in all of our classrooms from Grades 1 to 6. Knowledgehook is&nbsp;a Canadian educational technology company that provides an online math learning tool for students, teachers, and parents.&nbsp; It offers interactive, curriculum-aligned questions and assessments, such as live "GameShows" and self-paced "Missions," designed to help students practice math and give teachers insights into student thinking and areas of need.&nbsp; The platform aims to support student learning by giving teachers data for instructional guidance and providing students with engaging, game-like math activities.&nbsp; As a parent, you can connect to your child’s account and be part of supporting that learning. By now, you should have received information about how to connect to your child's account from their classroom teacher(s). Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have not received this information. This week we are holding a contest at the school. </span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">On Friday, the class with the most families attached to their child's Knowledgehook account will win a Pizza Party. We are hoping that families will stop in regularly to look for their child's missing belongings. Please encourage your children to check the Lost and Found. We have already gathered lots of sweatshirts. We are hoping that the new location of the Lost and Found will make it more visible to students and families.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">As always, please reach out to us if you have questions or need support.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Take care,</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Krista Esford, Principal</span></p><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr"><img src="/images/2217496f-a032-4d7c-88e3-6f38ae49cd28" alt="2025October22" width="100%" height="inherit" style="width:100%;height:inherit;display:inline-block"></h2><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Odessa Lost and Found</span></h2><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><br></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><img src="/images/8d5773c2-9701-4d0c-bf8a-f8b7dda2eb1e" alt="2025October23" width="100%" height="inherit" style="width:100%;height:inherit;display:inline-block"></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><br></p><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr"><img src="/images/83149d52-368f-4c19-94ef-c67e5cfc3cc5" alt="2025October14" width="100%" height="inherit" style="width:100%;height:inherit;display:inline-block"></h2><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr"><br></h2><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Important Links for Families</span></h2><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><br></p><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr"><a href="https://can01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fodessapublicschool.entripyshops.com%2F&amp;data=05%7C02%7Cesfordk%40limestone.on.ca%7C9249cf4f26894cf7037408ddf1373da3%7Ce1f4165febae4d82a73ca0de593830be%7C0%7C0%7C638931941822133075%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=ecy5PgJbemRaTCQDcQW2cVBEJiBGMYvAWoHD3RV%2BZsI%3D&amp;reserved=0" rel="noreferrer" class="editor-link"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Odessa Public School Spirit Wear eStore</span></a></h2><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><br></p><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr"><a href="https://www.school-day.com/" rel="noreferrer" class="editor-link"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">School Day</span></a></h2><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><br></p><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr"><a href="https://www.loyalist.ca/media/lf4ps1su/autumn-guide.pdf" rel="noreferrer" class="editor-link"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Loyalist Township Online Registration Guide</span></a></h2><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><br></p><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">How to Order Hot Lunch through LunchBox</span></h2><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><br></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><ie-document data-lexical-document-id="8c734ab0-3399-4236-840e-05e9a7800e18"></ie-document><ie-document data-lexical-document-id="6ee06426-d7c5-4020-9c16-469b0b20dea7"></ie-document></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><br></p><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Events for the Calendar </strong></b></h2><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><img src="/images/39480286-572c-443b-9920-0911ee44e7a0" alt="2025October25" width="395" height="526" style="width:395px;height:526px;display:inline-block;float:right"></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Tuesday, October 28th:</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> Gould Lake (King/Hancock) and Wynn Farms (Carrier/Zarzecki)</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Wednesday, October 29th</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">- Blue Jays Day (wear your Blue Jays clothes, hats etc. OR something blue today to show your support). We had 32 runners compete and they all had AMAZING results. Our coaches (Mrs. Carrier and Ms. Young) were very impressed with how our Tiger racers attacked the hills at Fort Henry. Addison placed 10th overall in the Bantam Girls division and was our top finisher. Congratulations to Addison, Hannah, Benny, Van and Gwen who all qualified in the top 30 in their division. These five Tiger runners will participate in the LDSB Cross Country Championship race at Fort Henry on October 22nd. GO TIGERS!</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">In case you missed this last week, the Limestone District School Board is committed to fostering accessibility and inclusion for all. We are currently developing our next Multi-Year Accessibility Plan and invite feedback from students, staff, families, and community members. The expectation from the Ministry of Education is that we set a goal to ensure that students do not miss more than 10% of the school year (approximately 18 school days). We will be reaching out to families of students who have missed a significant number of school days already this year and are not yet on track to meet the goal of less than 18 days missed over the course of the school year. We are here to help ensure your children are at school regularly and on time. Please reach out to us if you are struggling with attendance and we can help problem solve with you.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">As always, On Friday, the staff spent some time setting the School Achievement Plan goals for the 2025-26 school year. The goals fall under the areas of Literacy, Numeracy and Well Being. We will be finalizing these goals over the coming weeks and will share our plan in November. The afternoon portion of the day was spent on completing Individual Education Plans. Families of students who have IEPs are reminded that the first draft will be coming home on Thursday of this week. The IEP is a working document and we will be continuing to refine and edit them over the coming weeks. You may receive an updated copy with the Progress Reports in November. Message from the Director

<p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Dear Families,</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">It is hard to believe we are already approaching the end of October.&nbsp; Excluding today and a handful of other days, we have enjoyed a beautiful and relatively warm fall. Since the start of the school year, it has been wonderful to see the momentum of learning and the wide variety of extracurricular activities taking place across Limestone schools. As we head into November next week, I want to share a few updates with you:</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">See Yourself in Limestone – Student Census Survey</strong></b></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Information was shared with families earlier this week regarding the upcoming See Yourself in Limestone Student Census. The census is a voluntary and confidential survey for students in Grades 4 to 12. </span><i><em class="editor-text-italic" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Please note, there was one error in the message shared with you regarding the dates of the Student Census. The correct dates are November 24 to 28, 2025.</em></i></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">As a reminder, families who do not want their student(s) to complete the survey must contact their school Principal by Friday, November 14, 2025. Opting out means the student will not receive the survey in their e-mail inbox.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">By better understanding students’ identities and experiences, we can remove barriers and better support students in accessing what they need to succeed.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Learn more about the Student Census and how it supports equity in Limestone: </span><a href="https://www.limestone.on.ca/student_census" class="editor-link"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">limestone.on.ca/student_census</span></a></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Reminder: Upcoming PA Day – November 14, 2025</strong></b></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">A reminder to families that Friday, November 14 is a Professional Activity (PA) Day for all Limestone students. </span><i><em class="editor-text-italic" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">There will be no classes for students on this day.</em></i><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">&nbsp;</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Student Achievement Plan – Opportunity to Provide Feedback</strong></b></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">An update on </span><a href="https://www.limestone.on.ca/documents/5bb14b2b-a709-4efa-9daa-9553a7b51f9a/LDSB-Regular-Board-Meeting-Agenda-October-29-2025-revised.pdf" class="editor-link"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Limestone’s Student Achievement Plan is included in the most recent Board Meeting package (pages 37 through 39)</span></a><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">. School buses function differently than other vehicles, and sometimes, although it is safe for the average family vehicle to travel, it is not safe for a school bus to be on the road. Due to the geographic size of our district, weather conditions can vary significantly from one region to another. As a result, there are times when transportation cancellations may only apply to specific areas experiencing adverse conditions, while other regions remain unaffected. Having to cancel school transportation is understandably disruptive to families, but Tri-Board always puts the safety of their 30,000-plus bus riders first and foremost in their decision-making. Upcoming Student Census Survey

<p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Dear Families,</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Limestone is committed to supporting every student in achieving success.
